Semi Dual Sported my 300rr over the last two days in Vermont. I'll post upsome video soon.
The first day we started with a real technical trail that was only made worse with wet leaves hiding everything. From there we hit mostly smooth dirt roads with a few trails sprinkled in. We wended up with 73 miles for that day. My bike ran great, but I was really geared wrong for this ride with the 50t rear sprocket. I also discovered an issue with my Midwest Lever. I thought my clutch was starting to slip. Apparently I had the lever adjusted so that it had constant pressure on the clutch. With a cold motor, I think the oil was thick enough to mask my poor adjustment. I was bumming out because I thought my ride was going to be cut short. Once I backed off the set screw, my bike ran great and didn't miss a beat. She just wasn't happy with speeds above 50-52mph.
Day 2 was more or less smooth dirt roads with beautiful scenery. Only a couple of challenging trail sections but nothing extreme. I ended up with some range anxiety like someone driving an electric car. I pushed the reserve for a solid 20-25 miles but we made it back. Shocked, we went 114 miles. Not that 114 miles is a crazy distance, but a 2stroke with a stock tank and no fuel top offs. I'd say it's impressive.
