I'm from North Carolina, looking for new places to ride! Brushy and Brown Mountain are my main riding areas. I've rode Hatfield and McCoy trails in WV, I've rode Redbird in Kentucky. I've rode Durhamtown plantation and Highland Park in GA. Anybody know of any other good riding that I haven't mentioned? I like good old-fashioned single track. Also would like to ask this question. If I were to take like 2 weeks and travel out west to ride somewhere, where should I go? I like mountain single track the best, so keep that in mind. I'm really wanting to experience some great riding before I get to old to do it.

Not sure how far you would want to travel West but Idaho is hard to beat for legal trails that can entail almost any kind of single track from desert to butt puckering mountain single track. Quite a drive though!! We have decent single track in Montana but in most cases you need to contact locals in most regions to find it.

Two weeks...If you start in WA...head down to OR...over to Gifford Pinchot Nat’l Forrest. Then to Idaho...and south to Moab. Then home.

This guy does some very hard single track rides, way over my head, plus he gives you .gpx files, that work very well.

this site is also very good, mainly jeep trails, but you can download .gpx files and create your own loops using basecamp.

I use a simple garmin 64 that I load various trails onto then go ride, works great, "hardly" ever get lost.
ride in the desert during the winter, then move up to the mountains during the summer, AZ is a great place to ride.

We have great riding. It’s also in the middle of nowhere and it’s hard to find a bike rental depending on which island you go to .. but it is great for technical single track. The good thing about getting older is you don’t need to ride far to get a hard workout. On YouTube look up Sunday Rides, Dirtbikedanger, Drjekyll808 , Heeebz1 , and Hawaiidirtrider for some examples or maybe. Search up Hawaii hare and hounds.? To get an idea of what is here. Maybe you could go to Tennessee for TKO and race the Saturday races for fun and watch the pros on Sunday. I thought of making a tour business for riding but the logistics just are too difficult to deal with. Still put a search to see if the tours with dirt bikes are running.

You can come to the Beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota. Basically, the hills are 100 miles long and 50/60 miles wide. The entire area is covered in trails. Check out http://www.dakotaadventureloop.com/ or https://www.dakota600.com/

Also I belong to a local (actually about 5 states) dual sport group. http://dakotadualsportriders.com/ We have a couple of rallies each year. Often we will have people that join our rally in conjunction with their other riding visit.
One more thing, check out Adventure Rider http://advrider.com/index.php and search above names. That will give you real reviews from people around the country. There's at least one thread on ADVrider that is strictly about single track in the Black Hills.
