Ought 6 Enduro

Postby Enmerdeur » Mon Apr 28, 2014 12:17 pm

Hey raced Saturday at the Ought 6 Enduro. Rained all Friday night. It was very muddy.

This was my first race on my 300 RR. All I can say is wow. Could not believe how well the Beta performed in this nastiness. It just hooked up and motored up some nasty hills that I was sure was going to be spin to win deals.

Here is a short video of some examples. Sorry for the crappy camera angle. This was my first GoPro attempt.

I am putting together some more highlights of the event. The EnduroCross Special Test was brutal with the rain and mud.

How are you liking the Stillwell revalve? How the suspension work in those wet conditions?

Worked very well. Rear followed the ground very well keeping the power hooked up and the forks soaked up the slick rocks very well. The only time things would get sketchy is when both wheels would pack up with mud. Then it was Rodeo time!

Looks good. So how did you do?

I like the Sachs shock, and for most there is no reason to drop it in favor of the Fox. I actually had mine made a bit stiffer. I found what works for me is the rebound valved stiffer so the adjsuter can be run farther out, helping the compression a bit as well.

I did one 34 mile lap and called it a day. Tweaked my knee a little in some heavy mud. It was brutal. Hadn't ridden anything that muddy since I lived out east.

Yeah, plenty of mud this year. Good stuff hope your knee is OK. I have to use my GoPro more. I generally don't use it racing because its tight here a lot and it will get cleaned off mounted to the top of the helmet. I have an under visor mount that works good but if it came loose in a race it would distract me and make me nuts. That, plus every time I wear it I seem to do something stupid!

Knee is already feeling better. Riding again on Friday so it better heal up.
