Welsh 2 Day Enduro

You may have seen references to "The Welsh" in recent posts from UK members and I hope you will be interested in further explanation.
For the benefit of non UK readers, the Welsh International 2 Day Enduro is probably the best clubman time-card enduro in the world. It has been running as long as there have been bikes to ride it on and is around 160 miles on day 1 and 140 miles on day 2. Running across the incredible mid-Wales landscape, it covers a lot of the ground used in the 1983 ISDE and is the only endure in the UK that is allowed to run over 180 entries. There are usually 650 entries and in the age of the Web, the entries are all gone inside an hour of entries opening with riders coming from all over the world. And it's on next week.

It includes the iconic Strata Florida road that dates back almost 1000 years and was originally a pilgrimage route to the Strata Florida Abbey. It crosses a river many times along the route and it usually rains pretty hard round the event leading to interesting going. This was last year:

This is really one for the bucket list, I recommend it. If you are ever in a position to ride an event overseas, this is the one and we don't see many US riders although entries come from Australia, Iceland and all over Europe.
If you want the weird version, try it in Welsh, boyo. Like most UK folk, you won't understand much but it gives a great flavour of what it's all about. Sidecars too.....
