Beta bills itself as "the play bike" but they could aim much higher. After years and years of good but not great finishes in hare scrambles and enduro racing in the great Midwest, I won my first contested class victory on my Beta 250RR last October. Part of that could have been attributed to the mud (not Ohio levels of mud, but muddy nevertheless).

Fast forward to this season, riding the same bike but now with 85 hours of seat time and a few minor modifications, I've added a national hare scrambles class victory, a District 14 hare scrambles class victory, and a timekeeper enduro overall victory to the racing resume in the last month.

2015 PV spring arrangement
Dirttricks rear rotor
Dirttricks 13/50 gearing
FasstCo rear brake clevis and return spring
KYB SSS forks, PlusOnePerformance valving, triples etc
PlusOnePerformance valving in the Sachs shock
FMF Fatty pipe for HS, OE FMF for enduro
PlusOne modified OE silencer
Michelin S12XCs front and rear

So is the 2015 PV springs effectively those that are in the 300 so you could get them or are the ones from the 2015 available?

So is the 2015 PV springs effectively those that are in the 300 so you could get them or are the ones from the 2015 available?

I'm running the inner spring (green) from the 300 with the outer (white) from the 250. I have the 300 outer to try as well, but I wanted to race-test the set-up I have before continuing to experiment. Obviously this is only applicable to 2013 and 2014 250RRs.

Congratulations on doing so well!! Sounds like it's working well for you!!! As for "the play bike" focus.. I'm thinking they are clear on their target.. I don't think it's a matter of aiming higher. I think they have a target overall customer base that they are aiming for and judging by results they are more than successful.. It is sure ready to win though .. It's just what you are setting up for...but a lot of guys aren't racers.. They are just weekend warriors that have average ability and this bike makes those types of riders better since Beta is so easy to ride.. It's great too of course for full blown racing.
