Pretty much mimics my findings, except less clutch needed overall with the 300. With all the tech trail stuff here I've been almost exclusively using the soft map. It definetly works hand in hand with the PV, hard not to fine something your happy with. :D Actually Steve, your description is exactly what its like on a well jetted GG250.

Ignition switches now available. Used in combination with gearing and the PV adjuster you can make the power delivery exactly what you like.

Stock setting on Beta 250RR p.v. as delivered from factory is 2.5 not 1.5. Huge difference between 2 and 2.5. 2 is instant on and 2.5 is very soft. Also the jetting chart for the 250 is WAY rich. Bike is a blubbering mess with those settings. Stock I am still a tad rich at 600 ft/80s with a 162, at the first clip and 2 1/8 on the fuel screw. That is 3oz per gallon. I bet the leaner needle on the first clip would be perfect but this is pretty damned close. I wonder if those factory specs were developed at 32:1 that would lean out the mixture quite a bit.

So does the 250 come wired hot or in the mellow setting?

Sure seems mellow - the switch "On" position brings things to life.

So after testing the dual map with a toggle switch I was so impressed that it actually did make a substantial difference in power delivery, I decided using a tucked away toggle switch just would not do.

Also being very anal about keeping my handlebars as uncluttered as possible, I decided to use and combo start switch. This part is KTM part # 59011074100 and has a start button and a locking type "kill switch". Press it once it locks in (circuit closed), press again and it releases (circuit open). Perfect.

I can't tell from the picture, so the kill button is the red button and is there a black button below it that is the start button?

Correct. It is a locking type kill switch. It is double pole so you can set it up so that the aggressive map is engaged when it is pushed in (like I have it) or when it is out.
