Well the tank came in so I thought I would pull the sending unit and do an ohm test. The sending unit is fine however there was a loose zip-ty inside the fuel tank which could have been tangled around the sending unit float. I also saw where you guys were talking about the sending unit plug/connection could have been boogered up. Well with the sending unit in my hand and properly plugged in, it worked by manually moving the float up and down

Now if they would use some good O-rings I would be overjoyed as I have had to replace two on the engine already (oil fill plug and Gear oil check screw). My local dealer carries almost no spare parts yet, so everything has to be ordered.

After one day with the new tank, my low fuel light came back on
Looks like I have a bad float because it doesn't float no more, it just sinks down and triggers the low fuel light. Apparently there's a leak in the little float that goes up and down. Hopefully the dealer will just order a new one for me.

I will be doing the Alpine Trails Ride this coming weekend from Jawbone Canyon Ca. to Kernville. This will be my first organized Enduro ride and putting my 500RS through it's paces. I've logged about ten hours so far so after this ride I should be pretty well broke-in.

Hope to see some of you guys on Betas there and I'll try and get some pic's to post up.

I can't seem to get instant notifications on replies to my post, does anyone know how besides enabling it in the user control panel.

ricoyam yeah I here you about posting pic's on here. I don't have facebook but my wife does, I'll have her take a look. I wish I would have kept pic's of all the bikes I've owned over the past 45 years. I think I was twelve when I got a used Montgomery ward 50 and I was hooked. Wish I had that now, I think it was made by Benelli.
