I've had Hyde combos on GGs and they are pretty good protection, far better than a carbon pipe guard. The two disadvantages are they pack up with mud bad and they are a PIA to R&R. They are very light and have a nice way of sliding off obstacles and not biting in. I got a Force alloy combo guard from
Beta Australia and really like it. Fits perfect, easy two bolt R&R, and doesn't seem to hold as much mud as the Hyde. Weighs the same or less than an alloy plate/alloy pipe guard pair. Most of the time I can clean it out without removal. Also the pipe protection is second to only a custom Hawaiian cage. For me this is important. The scars indicate I would have trashed multiple pipes by now. It's expensive but to me worth it. I'll take a pic later in the week. Don't waste $$ on a carbon guard for here, all it will do is save a few small dings and on a big hit bend the header and break anyway. The Force is about $100 more than a Hyde, with shipping.
Rear rotor guard is a must too. Also just got a BRP chain guide as my stocker and front tab were getting beat, took awhile though. Linkage guard is another one I have but that's optional unless your a regular rock rider. Everything I have invested in as far as protection components has paid for itself. No bling.
