What battery maintainer to use

Postby GMK999 » Sun Nov 14, 2021 3:41 pm

It seems that my 21' 200rr has a lithium ion battery and all my other bikes do not. So my collection of battery tenders will not do.
Is there a recommended or better choice for the beta?
It stores all winter in an un heated garage and I like to ride the snow occasionally so don't wish to remove the battery. But I will if that is what's best.
BTW... Love the 200!!

I left my bike unattended for 8 weeks during lockdown and it started right up with no hesitation:

Lithium batteries do not normally self-discharge as fast as Lead Acid ones, if there is no current draw from your bike it should be safe to leave uncharged for a few month.

Cheers.

i use a OPTIMATE LITHIUM charger. i dont see a model number on it.
it says "for 12.8v LiFePo4 batteries" "LiFePo4 charger,tester, maintainer".
works real well and will cycle your battery, test it before and after.

the one i have is a little different than this, mine is few years old.

I have a 2018 300RR I bought new. I have never put a charger on the battery. It has set for months at a time, but always fires right up when I need it to. I am thoroughly impressed with this lithium battery! All my other bikes, and quads need new lead acid batteries almost every year!

As far as brands of chargers - I have been using ctek the last few years and have been very happy with them.

They are not cheap. But I like buying better tools ( and in this case buying batteries less often)
