Red

Don't be mad, go shop for a Newer set of KYB forks, I've tried Ohlins inserts on a few bikes and after running a tuned set of KYB's on the Beta I can say they are hands down better and less than half the cost for the conversion.

Ditto. I just found a pair of brand new 2013 YZ450F forks on Ebay for $700. The newer version fit right in the stock Beta triple clamps.

Much cheaper to maintain than Zoke 48s as well, and parts are plentiful.

Just try and buy new take offs of any flavor, they do show up. Any YZ/YZF KYB SSS will work. I got a brand new '11 set for $700. No hacks into them, no busted lugs, no anodizing wear. There is also a lot of crap out there so be careful. New is best despite the year.

The WR forks from 2012 up are a good option, especially if you're running in rocky terrain. The fork lug where the rebound adjuster threads in is 6.85mm thick, while the later YZ lugs (08+ I think) are only 3.5mm or so in that region and susceptible to smashing in. I'll add photos when I get a chance.

All this sounds good. but i dont think buying a brand new 2015 bike then fitting new forks is the way to go !!!!! the beta motor is THE BEST 300. but the forks just let the bike down, every test you read about the beta says the same, it is about time the factory started to take note!!!!! I will wait to see the racing later in the year. NED

Very true. You can however get these inserts from Zipty Racing that slip in and expand with two grub screws to reinforce the area. There are additional threaded holes to aid removal with jack screws. I used these to add an HDPE pad on the bottom for more protection. If it can be broken I will find out for sure.

I'd say screw the Sachs and the Marzocchis, put KYBs on them all. No one buys the Race for the bling, its the CC fork. Even TM is putting KYBs on some of the bikes.
