My bike had misfortune of hitting the ground on both sides quiet few times already. I have EE guards and no problems!

Most braces are OK for average conditions, but if you want the rad to survive a hit on a rock, you have to beef things up. Ideally, you want the cross brace posts to go directly to the frame mounts. Most braces don't, so add two that do, top and bottom. This way the force of a hit goes directly to to the frame, instead of bending the rad and brace around the frame mount. A thicker side plate and added grills to braces without them help lateral support as well. Might seem excessive, but there is no good place to fall here and I have not had to straighten a rad in years.

Some of the guards have a week spot in the lower right corner of the right radiator. You can't put an additional cross-support in that place if you have a fan, witch makes it even more vulnerable.

I have CrossPro guards, and they are not that good. Left radiator is still ok after many crashes, though.
I'm not in favor of those guards with grills in the front of radiator, unless you ride/race in particular conditions.

I've been using BPD rad guards since 08 and haven't damaged a radiator since. There is also another similar product, SRT, thats a little less than BPD. Don't have experience with them but they look to offer similar protection- just checked their website and looks like they don't offer them for Beta yet.
These are more upfront but when you add the cost of a radiator to the less expensive braces- or loss of cooling from damage or down time.

After crushing my rads, I went with the unabiker's after advice from a few guys here.
They work, real well. Tested them a few times already.
