The Unis are nice, my first choice for an OTS brace, as they incorporate cross bracing and grills. I have not seen the Beta version up close but on the GG version we added bracing as noted before. On the Beta this is not possible because the frame and shroud mount holes do not line up. What I did do was add a thicker side plate that the shroud mounts through, and the post very close with a pad against the frame. This way the brace cannot be bent and pushed into the frame around the mounting bosses. Again, maybe a bit over the top for some but it works here. I took a hit that split the left shroud right over the mount, and the rad and hardware are fine. These are Steve's braces, Scorpion GG grills, with the mods.

The uni's I ordered for my ktm, I returned. Felt cheap and poorly finished. All the punched out vent holes had burrs and the anodizing seemed poor

Weird, I was thinking the opposite about mine, they look like they were tumbled after being punched, all the edges were smooth. They were rigid without the cross bars but with them they were really strong, and have held up with a few drops already.

leadvilleeurotrash wrote:so I purchased the high dollar beta radiator gaurds.... sure they look good ,that's about all they do... one light tip over and wasted the right radiator... so im going back to what I know works....endure engenering braces ive ran on my gg and ktm... there cheaper and they work!

My rads are out of shape using the Beta guards too. I like the EE guards, but I need the frontal protection too, so I'll probly go with the Uni's.

I went down not hard but still down.. ice and snow at 12,000 feet.. the snow bent the radiator.. got the pipe too..bent at the head mount..radiators are pretty soft so makes for a easy fix.. after I receive the new one, will save for a extra

Unabiker, great fit and finish, have had on several bikes. Have yet to see a more robust guard. I got the first two stroke commercial set after he shipped to the beta team for the ISDE.

Without question the strongest OTS braces are the Emperor Racing parts. Unfortunately not avaviable for Beta, but maybe with the surge in popularity they will take notice. They really one up the material thickness over everyone else, and the optional grills are very thick add even more strength. Good stuff.

For the first gen Beta 4 strokes flatland ktm 450 guards worked excellent... all that need to be done was to drill one mounting hole about an inch down ..on each side of the outside of the regular mounting holes on the outside of the guard. ...and they cost about a hundred bucks or a little more. It's strong and looks good and a very reasonable price.. but just might have to call flatland to see what they might have. ..or also go to bulletproof designs and spend twice that amount blowing big bucks.. I did and it's nice but I know it's ridiculous to spend over 200 bucks for radiator guards..but it's highest quality.
