Oregon Spring-like conditions in February!

Amazing day riding with my oldest son. Conditions were perfect in Hood River, Oregon.

Link in my video to my son's video on the old KDX we keep as the extra back-up billy goat bike.

That’s a fun trail. I’ve always hit it going up.

It is a fun one. We went down to Post Canyon and back up it.

The 180's are my favorites. There are lots of trees down over there right now.

Have you ridden Pinemont?

No. I’ll have to find out where that is. Hood River used to be my go to when I was working near there. Don’t get much of a chance to head south these days.

I’d always head out of Post Flats staging, and do a counterclockwise loop around the reservoir. Great workout. I rode it once on the stock tires...then switched to GT333 and GT216AA 90/90 and couldn’t believe how much easier the trails became.

Yes, that's a great ride. Pinemont is up hwy 35 near Parkdale. Smaller, but more technical terrain.

The 216 fatty is a fantastic front tire! My go to was always the M59, but the 216 is much better for our NW woods. How is the 333? I'm running the Shinko 505 cheater and it's good, but I liked the Kenda IBEX better. I've got a Goldentyre rear laying around to try. Think it's a 232.

I've also got a new Kenda Equllibrium that I may go back to as I ran it 2 seasons ago and really liked it's performance for our terrain.

I haven’t tried the fatty yet. The 333 is great, tread pattern is same as the 232 but with recesses for better grip on harder surfaces. Going up the trail in your vid, you had to carry good speed into the steep sections with the stock or it would just spin out...even on the tiled sections. The 333 would grip so well you could go as slow as you wanted and just lug up anything. I have the 232 fitted on the rear right now for wet season, and plan to get another set of rims to fit a fatty and the old 333 to for drier more extreme terrain. I haven’t tried other brands...the GT’s work so well that I’m hesitant to switch.

Thank you for the GT info! They're getting popular down here with some of our faster woods guys going to them. I think I'll throw on the 232 and compare it to the Cheater.
