I do agree with that.

It's not the frame, but the gusset. This was a big hit at 60-70km/h straight into a hidden rock. There are marks on the other side in the same place.

Mine looks almost exactly like that and the exact same scenario as well.

ouch. was trying to take it easy on that initial ride with no aftermarket protective gear at all, VERY keen to get some on the bike after seeing that. :)

After 1.5 years the only thing that I sometimes find annoying is the lower ground clearance. The lower seat height makes up for it though.

The low ground clearance is my dislike also. We have crazy tall stumps here and my toes are taking a beating!

That's why you should ride on the balls of your feet

No matter how much higher you make the bike there will be a stump somewhere 1" higher yet. Yesterday, in one lap alone, I saw a KTM get a peg ripped off and a new YZ250FX with oil running out of the motor. Both taller bikes than the Beta.

i was surprised when i first got a trials bike at how little ground clearance they had, but the trick was to deweight, wheelie and use various techniques to avoid hitting the skidplate, and of course at other times deliberately use the skidplate. i figure the same applies to dirt bikes once we get enough skills? wouldn't say i'm there yet as it's tricky to cross big logs and keep the front wheel up, but also make sure you don't flip it.
