Have you done a video on drop-offs?
I was watching you practice those vertical climbs so I remembered this dread of mine. There are terrains over here where a steep downhill will finish with a vertical drop off. Everything above 60-70cm is scary.

they can be a bit freaky hey? i haven't gone over the bars yet but there's always a first time... i've got a written article on the website about drop offs: http://crosstrainingenduro.com/cross-training-enduro-techniques.htm

i should pull my finger out and make a training vid too!

sweet! i'm sure you'll get along famously with the italian princess. :D i had a DR and WR too in recent times, had a ball on both.

not quite a training vid although some hopefully handy tips if you ride solo occasionally - our adventures in trying to rescue an abandoned 300EXC...

some of you may remember we had chris birch (all hail the world's top extreme enduro rider back in 2010 forever and ever amen!) fly over from new zealand to coach us.

he just danced up some hill climbs we had cut but could barely ride down, let alone go up. in the mean time i've managed to just scrape my way to the top of two of them. our group decided to have a crack at all of them with the usual amusing results lol!

definitely impressed with the motoz hybrid rear, i didn't think the semi trials pattern would work on these climbs but once i got the throttle control sorted it was awesome.

fun ride on the weekend. pete is a die hard ktm fan, and also happens to dislike the 300EXC... he reckons the 250EXC is much more manageable so i was keen to see what he thought of the beta RR300. and of course he loved it. it seems to be an almost universal response and everyone says its so easy to ride, fantastic engine, feels light and nimble. it's good to know i'm not just biased as hell toward the italian princess.

latest vid: https://youtu.be/K4L1RvMUTfo

setting up the bike and riding gear continues, latest additions are a midwest clever lever to get an easier clutch pull, flexx handlebars to deal with the carpal tunnel syndrome and a zac speed armour/hydration pack to stay cool this summer. i'll give all of these a thorough test and review them later, but they were all brilliant on this first test ride.

How is the cleaver lever in the beta? I have one on my ktm 200 sx and it is great and was thinking of putting one on a xt but there have been reports that it doesn't work that well on a beta?

it's worked fine on mine and i checked with a few other guys personally before ordering mine and they said it was great. i have seen the one guy say he felt he couldn't adjust his to work properly but couldn't replicate his apparent problem on mine, that's for sure.

done two rides with it now and enjoying it, it's not a miraculously light pull like a clake ONE light clutch but of course this is much cheaper and still effective. i'll do a few more rides and do a comprehensive review on it...

in the mean time, took the RR300 out to play with the trials bikes again and romaniac rod challenged me to follow him up our infamous landslide section on our trials club property. we turned around well before the top as it gets seriously nasty, but surprised how far the beta got with the TUbliss for low pressure and the motoz hybrid rear tire for good grip.

lots of nice flowing trails on a mate's property but since rod got back from romaniacs we thought we'd pull our finger out and start making some tracks over wet rocks and in trickier terrain...

had so many questions about the rekluse and the rekluse vs clake debate over the past year i thought i'd slap some thoughts into this vid...
and we headed out to tackle our longest favouritest snottiest hill again!
